TRIP TO IVAR MALAI

 

Students of class 8th of our school went on an excursion to Ivar Malai.

They were accompanied by the teachers Mrs.Visalakshi, Mrs.Venupriya, Mr.Sekar and Mr.Arulpandy.The trip started at 10:50 Am and they reached their destination at 10:45 Am.

The sacred place that is also called as  pandavar Malai, had a 300 year old banyan tree and a 500 year old pipal tree, on the entrance of its foothills.

The hill got its name as Pandavar Malai, Because Pancha Pandavas along with Dhraupadhi stayed there for few years.

There were separate temples for goddess Dhraupadhi, Lord Ganesha and for Lord Muruga.

The hill offered a view of around 10 km’s surrounding it.Students with joy and enthusiasm elimbed the hills and feet the divine atmosphere.

They saw various idols and statues of ancient times.

The sight of Tirthangara statues and sculptures as mesmerizing.

The pond that is on the hill, is always filled with fresh water even during the hottest summers.

Students were given ceisure time where they shared their lunch with teachers and their friends.

They played traditional games on the branches of the tree.They took their van from there at 2:15 Pm and reached the school at 3 Pm.
