SPORTS DAY (2024-2025)
The Annual Sports Day was celebrated on December 21,2024 which is a very exciting and happy day that every student of UPS looks forward to.
The special guest for the event was Mr. M.V. Ramesh Babu, Past President of CODISSIA and Director of Navamani group of Companies.
The founder of the school Mr. Govindarajan, Chairman of United foundries, Secretary of the school Mrs. Sumathi Krishnasamy received the guest with band troop. Principal Joint Secretary Mrs. Madhumita Srivishnu, Director Mrs. Lakshmi Priya, Principal Mr. Balamurugan, teachers, students and parents had participated in the event. The event was organized by the physical education teachers of the school.
The special guest was welcomed by the school band troop. The school Principal welcomed the gathering. The special guest was presented with a memento. Following this, a colorful welcome dance was performed. A parade of students was held followed by the pledge of the sports day was taken and the flag was hoisted. The Olympic flame was lit. Mrs. Sangeetha read the annual sports report. The principal of the school delivered the keynote address. Following this, balloons were released and the sports programs began.
The main events of the festival were rope yoga and yoga special dance in yoga, ribbon, spiral, sword, veil, guru vanakam, group vanakam, adimurai, tarasu, and fire dance in the game of silambam. Tile breaking in karate, knife fighting, boxing and blocking methods, and the creation of I Love U P S through ball drill dance amazed the audience.
Following this, sports track events were conducted for the students. Prizes were distributed to the Winners. Vote of thanks was delivered.
The overall trophy was won by the Trial Blazers team for this academic year 2024-25.
The Sports day marked a truly memorable occasion.
